The Quarry Restaurant

Before heading into a town or city I always have an idea of a few places I’m going to visit.  The Quarry Restaurant in Kokomo was on my list and I am glad I went here.  Upon seeing the originality of the restaurant I started snapping pictures of the inside immeadetey .  I was told that most of the woodwork, stone, and other materials used to build the restaurant were recycled pieces from around Indiana.  Besides the ambience of this place, my server Ashley was very accommodating and it was noticeable she enjoys working at the Quarry.  Look at the pictures below to learn more about my visit to the restaurant!

The different woodwork that makes up this room comes from mansions that have been torn down in Indianapolis.

Besides the servers I was the only one in the restaurant when I arrived.  I was confused when they wanted to show me the men’s bathroom, but this said it all.

I enjoyed my meal outdoors.  They have bands play every Friday around 8pm.  When it’s nice out they play on the stage.

Almost everything on the menu is made from scratch!  I enjoyed their Fish Tacos which I was told is one of the top sellers from the menu.  Click here to see what else their menu offers!

The stage area is made up of addresses, lamps, and stone from people’s homes.  Visit The Quarry restaurant Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 11pm.  2130 West Sycamore Street Suite 200. Kokomo, IN.  Any questions or to make reservations call 765-450-5650.

Klein Brot Haus

When I find a new bakery it’s not just about finding something good to eat.  I love seeing the owner behind the counter presenting their delights or visiting with a regular customer who has their opinion of what is best in the store.  I also love to see how bakeries are decorated or arranged.  The Klein Brot Haus Bakery Cafe in Brookston is unique in many ways.  Besides offering goodies such as cookies, brownies, pie, and other treats they also have a soup and salad bar and offer breakfast, sandwiches and other great meal options.  There are tall shelves stocked with fresh made breads, jams, honey and other retail.  There is plenty of seating to enjoy breakfast with your sweetie or a meal with friends.  Be sure to make a stop to the Klein Brot Haus soon!  For now check out pictures of the bakery and some of the goods I purchased while there.

Falling into Comfort

These are the things I love most about the fall.  The apples turn into apple pie and caramel apples.  The living room table holds a bowl full of candy corn.

Home Purdue Football games on Saturday and Pro Football on Sunday!

The cooler weather means sweatshirts and cuddling up with a blanket or the one you love.  Everything about Fall gives me comfort whether it’s a bowl of homemade soup or staying in to watch movies.  Get ready for a lot of excitement and comfort on Indiana Elyse.  There will be great places to travel to in Indiana and some of my favorite recipes and maybe even a decorating tip or two!  Make sure to check back all of this week and the weeks to come.  I have a lot of great places that offer sweet treats and indoor fun for those rainy days along with some delicious recipes!

I buy these every time I go to Flour Mill Bakery.  They’re called Bumblebees and they are so soft, buttery and full of cinnamon!  Warm them up in your microwave for just a few seconds for an even more special treat!

I was on a cinnamon kick the day I visited.  I walked away with this tray of homemade cinnamon rolls.  Very rich and even more delicious when warmed up!

A bit of my yummy mess.  Don’t worry though, I cleaned that plate very well!
