Today was full of unexpected fun! I woke up at 7a.m. and started to get ready for work when my boss text to let me know I wasn’t needed. I was already wide awake so I called my sister to see if she wanted to go check out a bakery a few towns away. We headed to Burlington, Indiana where we found Sweetie Pies Homemade Delights. The smell of fresh baked pie crust sweetened the air as we opened the door. You’re practically in the kitchen when you walk in where they make pies, egg noodles and so many other goodies. We were a little bummed that they didn’t have any pies or cookies you could buy at the store, but they are very happy to fill any order you place in advance. They do have a Sweet ‘ n Savory Saturday every Saturday where you can purchase cinnamon rolls, muffins, and other treats along with coffee. Check out the hours and menu below! After that we decided to head to Kokomo in search of the Gingerbread House Bakery. While we were driving we came upon Moore’s Pie Shop which has been in business since 1946 and have a huge selection of yummy pies including sugar-free, fruit and poured pies. We then headed to the Gingerbread House Bakery where we purchased cookies and a doughnut with a chocolate glaze and filled with peanut butter fluff….YUM! If you ever have a sweet attack these bakeries can help you out!
